Job Summary

This job is in the Plant family (Department), which includes positions responsible for supervising or performing metals processing and distribution work. Work includes specialized equipment operation and/or supporting functions and requires a practical knowledge of the nature and operations and the materials, facilities and methods employed by Phoenix Metals in metals processing and distribution.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Generally responsible for completing basic, routine tasks with detailed instructions.
• Maintains work area in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
• Reports any irregularities to supervisor for direction.
• Responsible for adhering to/ensuring compliance with applicable safety and quality standards
• Performs equipment repairs, PM\'s, routine maintenance, and other maintenance related tasks as assigned. This will include work outside of normal business hours and on weekends.
• Performs routine maintenance on building interior and exterior.
• Works in a safe manner and recognizes unsafe situations.
• Performs general machine maintenance including repairs, PM\'s, and other maintenance related tasks
• Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• Maintain maintenance records.
• Coordinate work with outside vendors performing repairs / upgrades.
• Tracking of maintenance activities through a computer program.
• Locate and order parts through vendors.
• To perform this job successfully, the individual must be thorough and possess strong time management skills. Problem solving/analysis are also important. Basic computer skills and the ability to learn/use maintenance software.

Required and Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities required.
• High School diploma/GED preferred.
• Must possess a Valid Drivers License.
• Must be able to obtain a certification to operate all required motorized material handling and rigging equipment.
• Clear oral and written communication skills, particularly legible handwriting required.
• Ability to show adequate manual dexterity, finger dexterity, arm-hand steadiness, and multi-limb coordination required.
• Ability to read and comprehend written instructions as applied to work situations required.
• Basic measurement skills, including taking, converting, and/or using measurements of length, width, height, and weight to perform basic math computations correctly required.
• Basic arithmetic skills to calculate and convert decimals and fractions required.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively required.
• Ability to make sound decisions based on a combination of factors including knowledge, experience, and judgment required.
• Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with supervisors and co-workers required.

Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Warehouse/Field setting; minimal temperature environment
