POSITION SUMMARY
The Fabrication Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and maintaining efficient fabrication processes throughout the facility.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Promote a strong quality culture throughout the company maintaining Cooper Steel\xe2\x80\x99s core priorities: Safety, Quality, Production
Distribute shop drawings as required to fitting stations. Keep up with revisions and assure only the latest version is being used for fabrication
Maintain current sequence lists and assure fabrication is meeting the time constraints of required deliveries
Distribute quality control/part ID tags to the correct fitting station
Assign work pieces to each fitting station as required to meet production goals taking into account the speed and talent level of each fitter
Assure detail material is ready and available for each piece as required before assigning workstations
Assure shop bolts required for assembly are in the shop and ready for installation
Assist QC in scheduling and coordinating inspection process
Monitor progress and push for in time completion of pieces by each fitter station
Ensure each fitter station has the tools and supplies necessary to complete the piece as assigned
Monitor work to assure it is being safely performed to Cooper Steel safety standards.
Ensure PPE is supplied and worn correctly
Work with other departments in the shop to ensure the correct material is being processed
Act as a positive leader while leading teams and maintaining business relationships
Maintain appropriate confidentiality of all Cooper Steel business affairs, internally and outside of the company
Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or equivalent
3-5 years prior experience in structural fabrication
Basic computer knowledge
OTHER SKILLS
Strong functional and technical skills; ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of individuals; good judgment; strong attention to detail; ability to work effectively with others. While performing certain duties of the job, the employee is required to stand, stoop, bend, twist, lift, pull, and reach. Use of hands for gripping and grasping required. Specific vision abilities are required. Lifting is required up to 75 lbs. Must be flexible in hours worked and willing to work overtime.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Position performs work mostly in the Shop setting which includes a variety of working conditions. These include the following conditions: noise level fluctuations from moderate to high, use of personal protective equipment, machine/equipment use. Position involves everyday risks or exposure to elements that require safety precautions. Position will be required to work in adverse weather conditions such as heat, humidity, cold, precipitation, etc.
