Job Description
Job Summary: Under direct supervision monitors student behavior and safety while on school grounds. Monitors student activities during lunch periods and recess (both indoors and outdoors) to ensure appropriate behavior and safety is maintained according to established guidelines. Directs students in proper use of school equipment/facilities and prevents and/or intervenes in student arguments/fights.Specific job responsibilities relevant for this position include:
- Monitors student activities during lunch periods and recess (both indoors and outdoors) to ensure appropriate behavior and safety is maintained according to established guidelines. Directs students in proper use of school equipment/facilities and prevents and/or intervenes in student arguments/fights.
- Intercepts unfamiliar personnel on school grounds, requests identification and/or directs them to school office.
- Assists instructors in providing first aid to students and/or accompanies injured students to the school nurse.
- May be required to performs basic clerical and/or support duties including providing library or office assistance (e.g. filing, copying, answering phones, sorting/distributing mail).
