Applicants must hold a current TCOLE Telecommunicators License, Texas Commission on Law Enforcement. Temporary TCOLE licenses will not be accepted for this posting.
Those without a current TCOLE license are encouraged to apply when the non-certified 9-1-1 Telecommunicator position is posted in February.
Applicants with a current TCOLE license will skip Criticall testing and move directly to interviews.
Earliest possible start date for TCOLE licensed applicants is Monday March 20, 2023
Applicants with a current TCOLE license will receive a $5,000 hiring incentive
Applicants with a year or more emergency telecommunicating or dispatching experience will have a higher starting rate based on years of experience: 1 year or more experience 3 years or more experience 5 years or more experience 10 years or more experience

JOB SUMMARY
Dispatches appropriate police, fire, and/or EMS personnel; processes emergency and non-emergency calls; provides information and assistance to callers; maintains communication with callers and response personnel; prepares and maintains emergency communication records; operates and maintains various types of communications equipment; access to state and federal law enforcement databases; coordinates and performs a variety of dispatch functions on behalf of the City\'s 911 Communications Center and performs other related duties.
