Overview
The goals of the advisors in FJ Management Center for Student Success are to:
Increase persistence, retention, and graduation rate of business students through personal advising relationships that focus on student strengths, interests, goals, and values.
Assist students in finding experiential learning experiences that best fit their career goals.
Create an inclusive advising environment where student identities are recognized and valued, implicit and unconscious bias are continually discussed among the team, and employees are making intentional progress on the Intercultural Development Continuum.
Implement best practices from the Complete College America Purpose First initiative.
Align academic advising training and development with the Appreciative Advising framework and core competencies from the National Academic Advising Association: The Global Community for Academic Advising (NACADA).
Update processes and practices to align with Council for Advancement of Standards in Higher Education (CAS) for Academic Advising Programs.
The work is organized to promote student success while creating community, promoting equity, and simplifying systems and processes.
This role will supervise 5-11 professional positions.
The Academic Advisor Supervisor reports to the Director of the FJ Management Center for Student Success. This classification supervises other Academic Advisors and student employees.
