Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

The College of Information Studies (iSchool) seeks an Academic Information Coordinator to oversee short- and long-term course scheduling and support the Executive Director for Academics and the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs with curriculum planning and scheduling. This position will coordinate the flow of scheduling related information to and from iSchool teams such as payroll and budget/finance, and other relevant Campus units, such as the central scheduling office and the Office of Extended Studies (OES). This position will also serve as the official scheduler of the College of Information Studies.
Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor degree. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for the degree and 2 years of relevant experience.
Experience:
  • Experience working with a range of planning and scheduling applications.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Excellent organizational skills. Strong interpersonal skills.
Preferences:

Preferences:
  • Experience working with database applications, including a basic understating of relational databases and SQL queries.
  • Familiarity with UMD iSchool academic program operations, including advising, scheduling, staffing, and teaching support processes.
  • Familiarity with UMD-wide and iSchool-specific information systems that support academic program operations.
  • Masters (underway or completed) in information management or related discipline.
