The Role at a Glance

We are excited to bring on an Account Manager Trainee Associate to join our newly established Account Management Development program. This position is part of our Workplace Solutions Account Management Development Program that starts in June 2024. In this role you will be in a work from home environment or hybrid home/office if located near one of our Lincoln offices.

About the Program

The Workplace Solutions Account Management Development Program is approximately 6 - 9 months in duration to prepare customer-centric individuals for account management roles within our company. The goal is to accelerate the growth of associates within the program providing them with a robust training curriculum, practical application, mentorship, and formal apprenticeship to take charge and further their career in account management at Lincoln Financial Group. Upon successful completion of the program, participants will be assigned to their own customers within the Workplace Solutions business.

What you\'ll be doing

  • You will learn and maintain an understanding of Lincoln\'s products (dental, life, disability, leave, statutory plans and voluntary benefits such as accident, critical illness, and hospital indemnity), services (Employee Assistance, Wellness Path, Candidly) and operational structure.
  • You will coordinate with subject matter experts, including marketing, underwriting, IT, billing, claims, legal, etc. to resolve issues in a timely and collaborative manner.
  • You will develop, maintain, and execute client relationship plans that ensure overall client needs are met/exceeded and achieve the business, profitability, and retention objectives. In addition, you will job shadow with an assigned Account Manager to learn how to create a stewardship presentation and retention plan.
  • You will observe, actively participate, and perform account management activities as part of a customer implementation to ensure successful onboarding to Lincoln. Implementation is a team approach, and you will collaborate with implementation & enrollment managers, sales representatives, etc. as well as other internal partners, customer, broker.
  • You will present on products, services, and capabilities via a finalist presentation. You will have the support of the Account Management Trainer and assigned Account Manager.
  • You will learn to build and maintain internal/external business relationships through effective communication via in-person, email, and telephone in a customer centric and professional approach.
  • You will identify, recommend, and champion process improvements and organizational initiatives to positively influence the team and quality.
What we\'re looking for

Must-have experience (Required):
  • 2024 Graduating seniors with a minimum GPA of 3.0; 4 Year/Bachelor\'s degree or equivalent work experience
  • 0 - 1 years of customer-focused experience
  • Exceptional communication skills (verbal/written)
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Proven time management skills with ability to prioritize workload and multi-task with attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Nice to have (Preferred):
  • Demonstrated leadership and work ethic experience through campus or community involvement
  • 0 - 1 years of experience in account management or group insurance that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position
  • Project management experience
  • Presentation training or skills
Travel Requirements

Up to 25%

Level: P1

Pay Range: $41,500 - $74,100

Actual base pay could vary based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln\'s total rewards package for employees. In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual. Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln\'s standard benefits package.
