With roots in northeast Indiana, we are a family-owned company that has been raising and processing both organic and all-natural chicken with the help of local farm families for over 30 years. We are vertically integrated and oversee every process within the company. From our chicks hatching at our family-owned hatchery, being placed within our community of more than 180 farm families, to owning two feed mills that process our corn and soybean meal mixture. POSITION SUMMARY

Accounting managers oversee the accounting department functions with a focus on ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of financial statements and reporting. Responsible for several direct reports and working to allocate tasks evenly across the team. The accounting manager is responsible for driving team performance and getting the most out of individual contributors.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

\xc2\xb7 Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, month-end closing, and property taxes.

\xc2\xb7 Help with quarterly and year-end financial audit activities and the annual corporate financial controls audit

\xc2\xb7 Assess current practices and procedures, and make recommendations for improvements

\xc2\xb7 Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness

\xc2\xb7 Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested

\xc2\xb7 Supervise and/or manage general ledger accounting functions

\xc2\xb7 Develop staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships

\xc2\xb7 Work with external auditors to ensure correct and timely closing and reporting at year-end

\xc2\xb7 Establish and Monitor Financial Systems: Such as creating, monitoring, and evaluating financial systems within the organization.

\xc2\xb7 Responsible for collecting, analyzing, verifying, and reporting financial information to the department head so the company can make well-informed financial decisions.

\xc2\xb7 Responsible for recommending forecasting requirements, drafting annual budgets, and project expenditures to prepare periodic statements and meet financial regulatory requirements. analyze general ledger variances and suggest corrective action for management\'s approval to meet annual accounting financial objectives.

\xc2\xb7 Develop action plans, audit operations, and propose efficiency improvements.

\xc2\xb7 Responsible for tracking revenue and expenses, consolidating and analyzing financial data, preparing special reports, maintaining internal controls and other best practices, and reporting activity to internal and external customers.

\xc2\xb7 Conduct performance evaluations, coordinate training programs, and identify training needs.
