Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Specialist Position Summary: The Accounts Payable Specialist completes payments and controls expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices. The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for facilitating the timely and accurate issuance of customer invoicing, payment collection, and account reconciliation efforts. This position plays an essential role in helping to minimize financial loss and will work cross-functional to ensure customer transactions are completed with a high degree of accuracy, timeliness, and focus on quality service. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Maintains accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions. Charges expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports; recording entries.
- Pays vendors by monitoring discount opportunities; verifying federal tax ID numbers; scheduling and preparing checks; resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation; insuring credit is received for outstanding memos; requesting stop-payments or purchase order amendments.
- Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions and comparing to system report balances.
- Reconciliation and posting of A/R payments, creates and sends out monthly statements.
- Changes credit limits as needed, writes refund checks for parts and service.
- Assist all co-workers, managers, sales persons, service advisors, vendors, factories and customers with the information they need promptly and accurately.
- Must be cooperative, courteous, helpful and pleasant to assure an efficient and smooth processing of transactions in a non-hostile working environment.
- Protects organization\'s value by keeping information confidential.
