Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Clerk to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the company's outgoing payments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial policies. This role is essential in maintaining the financial integrity of our operations and requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.

Duties

Process and verify invoices for payment, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies. Manage accounts payable transactions, including data entry, reconciliation, and reporting. Maintain accurate records of all accounts payable activities and transactions. Collaborate with vendors to resolve discrepancies and ensure timely payments. Assist in the preparation of financial reports related to accounts payable. Perform general ledger reconciliation to ensure all transactions are accurately recorded. Support benefits administration as needed, including processing related invoices. Utilize financial software such as Quicken, Ceridian, or ADP for efficient transaction processing.

Skills

Proficiency in financial software is essential; experience with Quicken, ADP, or Ceridian is a plus. Knowledge of public accounting principles and practices. Familiarity with accounts receivable processes and governmental accounting is advantageous. Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills. Ability to perform general ledger reconciliation accurately. Effective communication skills for interacting with vendors and team members. A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
