Job Description


BASIC FUNCTION: Works with Activities Director, other Activity Department members, and Volunteers to provide a stimulating, enriching environment by providing a variety of social, educational and recreational activities to meet the individual needs of the Care Center residents.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The Activities Aide assists with the planning and implementation of activities for residents.
  • Assists in developing programs to encourage socialization, provide entertainment, relaxation and fulfillment; and improve daily living skills.
  • Develops and conducts a variety of programs and activities for all levels of patient ability.
  • This includes arts and crafts, reading groups, games, gardening, exercise programs, social programs, etc.
  • Develops and maintains a good rapport with department members, other staff and volunteers involved with the care plan to cultivate a team effort in resident care.
  • Interacts with residents, family members, staff, etc. under all conditions.
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Works under general supervision.
  • A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required to perform the job successfully.
  • Performs a variety of tasks other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Certified Nursing Assistant license is preferred.
  • Must have BLS Certification within three months of initial employment and maintain current status throughout GRHD employment.
  • Minimum of one year experience in a Long Term Care setting preferred.
  • Valid Driver\xe2\x80\x99s License and clean DMV record preferred.
SALARY INFORMATION :

$16.88 - $18.50 Dependent on Experience
