Job Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic Activities Assistant to help coordinate and facilitate engaging programs for our diverse community. Given our growing Vietnamese-speaking population, bilingual (Vietnamese/English) candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
The Activity Assistant plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals in care settings. This position involves planning, organizing, and implementing engaging activities that promote social interaction, cognitive stimulation, and physical well-being for residents. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with diverse populations, including seniors and individuals with disabilities, and will be skilled in fostering a supportive and inclusive environment.

Responsibilities

Qualifications:

Develop and implement recreational programs tailored to the interests and abilities of residents. Assist in coordinating daily activities, ensuring that all participants feel included and engaged. Provide support to residents during activities, offering encouragement and assistance as needed. Collaborate with other staff members to create a holistic approach to resident care. Maintain accurate records of participation and feedback on activities for continuous improvement. Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members regarding activity schedules and resident preferences. Support memory care initiatives through specialized programming aimed at enhancing cognitive function. Promote social interaction among residents to foster a sense of community.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Fluency in Vietnamese is highly preferred to best serve our participants.

Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for working with diverse communities.

Experience or knowledge in working with individuals with disabilities or in senior care settings is preferred. Strong skills in schedule management to effectively organize activities. Background in recreational therapy or related fields is a plus. Familiarity with memory care practices and aging issues counseling is beneficial. Excellent communication skills to interact positively with residents and team members. Experience in caregiving or home community care is an advantage. A compassionate attitude towards aging populations and a commitment to enhancing their quality of life.

Pay: $20.75 - $21.46 per hour
