The UHS Corporate Process & Performance Improvement Department is hiring a Acute Assistant Division Director - Patient Safety & Regulatory Compliance to develop, implement and sustain Corporate-directed patient safety and high reliability systems that meet national safety, regulatory and accreditation standards throughout the UHS Acute Care Division. This role will also serve as the patient safety and regulatory compliance leader, working collaboratively with Hospital Leadership and multiple disciplines including nursing, quality, risk, regulatory, accreditation and physicians to develop a culture of safety and compliance, focused on the elimination of preventable patient harm.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Lead the planning, assessment, development, education, monitoring, and sustainment for the UHS Patient Safety Program
  • Work collaboratively with Corporate and Hospital regulatory leaders to achieve continuous compliance with accrediting and regulatory requirements
  • Assess the educational needs and develops training for hospital leaders and clinical staff to promote and maintain patient safety initiatives and compliance improvement processes based on current evidence based high reliability practices and principles
  • Evaluate key performance indicators for patient safety and compliance to determine trending in causal factors and identify system improvements to develop high reliability performance improvement
  • Lead the development and creation of Evidence-Based high reliability systems to improve patient safety and compliance
  • Coordinate and conduct collaborative patient safety and compliance activities with Quality, Risk, Facilities and other departments as needed to perform assessments, educate and implement \xe2\x80\x9ccontinuous readiness\xe2\x80\x9d strategies related to safety and regulatory requirements
  • Manage the Corporate Patient Safety Council and UHS PSO Governing Council, including collaboration with facility and corporate leaders in developing programming and initiatives, development of the monthly agenda, and completion of minutes
  • Provide post survey recommendations for sustainable safety initiatives (assists the facilities in formulating plans of corrections when required)
Qualifications

Bachelor\'s degree with 8-10 years\' experience in patient safety, risk management, quality management, or similar experience in acute care hospitals or multi-provider healthcare systems.
  • Knowledge of and competency in patient safety and high reliability systems
  • Knowledgeable in regulatory standards and accreditation standards and subject matter expertise in applying patient safety and high reliability principles to acute care hospital operations
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data, develop metrics for data evaluation, and recommend patient safety initiatives in response to data trends
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with a multidisciplinary health care team; physicians, nursing, department heads, quality, risk and members of executive leadership required
  • Highly developed organizational, interpersonal, management, team building, and communication skills
  • Strong Project Management skills
  • Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) and/or Certified Protection Professional (CPP) preferred
  • Up to 20% travel
