Job Description


The Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing general administrative and clerical services to the mill, specifically but not limited to, accounting support, safety training, regulatory compliance and other administrative related items. By providing these services in an effective and efficient manner, this role will support successful operations at the mill.

The successful candidate will have a background in Finance, Human Resources, or Business Administration, preferably in a manufacturing setting. S/he will have a strong desire to provide excellent customer service with a high level of professionalism in the HR service environment. The successful candidate must be safety minded and possess strong written and oral communication skills, be highly collaborative and uphold absolute confidentiality with regards to sensitive and protected information.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide timely and courteous assistance to employees for general questions and refer them to the HR Manager when required
  • File and verify employee documents and coordinate hourly pay for performance review cycles
  • Assist with employee recruitment duties and retention initiatives
  • Prepare new employee orientation packages and training
  • Maintain safety records and schedule random on-site drug/alcohol screenings
  • Receive, stamp and process invoices received at the mill and coordinate activities with Accounts Payable department
  • Perform audits of files for compliance
  • Perform various Administrative and HR tasks as assigned
Requirements:
  • 2-5 years of Administrative experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Finance, HR, or Business Administration diploma or degree considered an asset
  • Strong communication skills (active listening, written and oral)
