About Us:
Middle River Aerostructure Systems is a world-leading manufacturer of engine nacelles and specialized aerostructures. It supplies and supports these products for engine makers, airplane manufacturers and aircraft operators. Located on Maryland\'s Chesapeake Bay near Baltimore, MRAS has a 1.7-million sq. ft. facility situated on 180 acres \xe2\x80\x93 where the company and its predecessors have designed, built and equipped civil and military aircraft for over 90 years. MRAS is part of ST Engineering North America, the U.S. affiliate of Singapore-based ST Engineering. It is key part of a global network of aerospace facilities and offices.
Role
Engine Build Up (EBU) Systems Design
Role Summary Purpose
EBU systems provide the interface between the aircraft engine and airframe. This typically includes hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, fire detection, fuel, and bleed air systems, the associated control valves, system routings, and attaching brackets necessary for system mounting. In this role you will be using Computer Aided Design (CAD) software to create EBU system layouts and technical data packages that document the detailed design.
Essential Responsibilities
\xc2\xb7 Coordinate with the Engine Manufacturer and Airframer to define the EBU system architecture and develop layouts.
\xc2\xb7 Generate Technical Data Packages for system subcomponents, including 3D models and drawings.
\xc2\xb7 Create and participate in technical presentations to support both internal design reviews and external customer reviews.
\xc2\xb7 Coordinate with Senior Engineers to ensure that EBU systems and components meet technical and program requirements in accordance with business standards, practices, and procedures.
\xc2\xb7 Coordinate with multiple vendors and customers to define system functional and physical requirements and interfaces.
\xc2\xb7 Review and approve engineering change packages, including part definition and change substantiation.
\xc2\xb7 Provide technical inputs to cost out projects and associated reviews.
\xc2\xb7 Communicate and work effectively with team members. Requirements:
\xc2\xb7 Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an accredited university or college with a minimum of 3 years of experience in the field of Engineering, OR an Engineering Graduate Degree (M.S. / M.E)
Desired Characteristics
\xc2\xb7 Experience in an engineering position related to the design of hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel, electrical, fire detection systems, and/or valve systems
\xc2\xb7 Proficient with Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools and processes. Ability to generate 3D models, including hose, duct, and wire routings. (CATIA V5 preferred)
\xc2\xb7 Ability to create and interpret product design documentation, including 2D drawings using Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5
\xc2\xb7 Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously
\xc2\xb7 Effective problem identification and solution skills
