Job Description


The role of Director of Feed & Agronomy entails spearheading and enhancing efficient Feed and Agronomy operations in South Dakota and Wyoming to achieve corporate growth and profitability objectives. Reporting directly to the CEO, the Director will be responsible for optimizing organizational effectiveness, fostering communication, promoting continuous employee development, and strengthening both employee and customer relationships.

Director of Feed & Agronomy Responsibilities:

This role necessitates a thorough understanding and adherence to Federal, State, and Company policies. The Director must exhibit meticulous attention to detail, quick decision-making abilities, and adept multitasking skills. * Attain profitable outcomes through effective management of Feed & Agronomy operations and the sales team, employing motivation, counseling, skills development, and product knowledge enhancement.

  • Oversee the procurement and distribution of Feed, Feeders, Feed & Livestock Equipment, Animal Health products, and Agronomy products.
  • Manage the sourcing of supplies, accounts receivable, and collections.
  • Directly supervise location managers and Feed & Agronomy employees, handling tasks such as hiring, terminating, coaching, counseling, and creating development plans for each location manager.
  • Lead and manage the team through training and clear job assignments.
  • Conduct employee performance reviews in accordance with company policies.
  • Oversee, monitor, and enforce adherence to all location operations, systems, applications, processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Design and implement a strategic business plan focused on achieving profitable growth.
  • Develop relationships with key vendors and collaborate on implementing marketing programs that drive profitable business growth.
  • Work with the company\'s marketing and advertising staff to develop and implement Feed & Agronomy marketing and advertising programs.
  • Support and participate in the development of safety and compliance practices and policies.
  • Review monthly reports on equipment/vehicle inspections, inventory, mileage/fuel, repairs, and company expenditures.
  • Maintain the vehicle fleet by coordinating preventative maintenance, repairs, and licensing.
  • Foster and promote a robust safety culture, ensuring adherence to all safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Identify and communicate workplace hazards, correcting unsafe actions or conditions when necessary.
  • Ensure the safe and customer-oriented provision of liquid products and services, consistent with Company policies and Federal and State Regulations.
  • Guarantee the security, integrity, and confidentiality of data.
Director of Feed & Agronomy Preferred Education and Experience:
  • A four-year degree in Business Management or a related business/agriculture field of study.
  • Five years of industry experience.
  • Five years of supervisory experience.
  • Five years of experience with Profit & Loss Statements.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to learn business accounting systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
