The Laboratory and Environmental Assessment Division\xe2\x80\x99s (LEAD) mission is to provide timely, high-quality data and information through monitoring, laboratory services, and data analysis. The Division serves the Agency programs and regional offices throughout Oregon and provides the scientific information necessary for the agency to achieve its mission to be an active leader to restore, enhance, and maintain the quality of Oregon\xe2\x80\x99s air, water, and land. What you will do!
You will be the Agency\xe2\x80\x99s primary strategist on toxics and emerging contaminants, providing cross-program policy and technical leadership and coordination on toxic substance issues. You will be responsible for developing and advancing an agency-wide, cross-media approach across air, land, and water to toxics, including contaminants of emerging concern. You will provide strategic leadership and policy coordination, as well as provide technical support. In addition, you will collaborate with other Oregon departments and local governments, agencies in other states, Federal agencies, Tribal governments, and community-based organizations at the local, state, and national level.

What are we looking for?
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in physical science, environmental science, natural resources, or a closely related field, AND 5 years of experience in a natural resource or environmental field (an equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable). At least 1 year of experience at a technical or professional level performing activities in a natural resource program such as researching and analyzing data, conducting investigations, applying pertinent laws and regulations, or coordinating and monitoring project activities.
