Does the prospect of creating lasting connections amongst NOLS alumni excite you? If so, join the NOLS team as The Alumni Trips Director.In this position you will lead the development, marketing, execution, and evaluation of our global alumni trips program. You will partner with departments across the school to promote smooth enrollment, excellent customer service and positive outcomes for students with a focus on excellent risk management and alignment with the NOLS mission. You will be driven by the power of a continued NOLS connection and the positive impact on our students as you direct the execution of over 70 annual alumni trips, seminars, and special events that offer continuing education. This role resides in our Expedition department, and reports directly to the Vice President of Expeditions.Key Logistical Points:Location: Lander, WY preferred, with potential for remote in specified locations.Start Date: January 1, 2025Benefits: This position is eligible for Health Insurance, Dental Insurance, Vision Insurance, Flexible Spending account, Life Insurance, Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance, Long Term Disability, Employee Assistance Program, Paid Time off, 403(b), 403(b) contribution, and more.Questions: Please contactWhat does an Alumni Trips Director do?Oversee the daily and long term operations of the Alumni Trips program; strategically engaging in partnerships internal and external to NOLS to boost participation and ensure longevity of the program.Evaluate and define Alumni Trips in the broad ecosystem of travel options available to our Alumni and the ecosystem of NOLS product offerings.Apply a metrics driven approach to building annual and multi-year plans; incorporating staffing needs, financial management and partnership planning as key elements.Supervise and collaborate with the Alumni Trips Coordinator to ensure appropriate execution of bespoke customer service, tailored marketing, and detailed trip information.Partner with the staffing departments to build appropriate staffing plans, and respond to trends in enrollment.Ensure top notch customer service for alumni trip participants through enrollment support, paperwork tracking, follow-up, and tuition collection via phone and email.Work with NOLS campuses and outside vendors to ensure accuracy of information and pricing.Create and monitor risk management procedures for global alumni trips. You are a strategic thinker who enjoys the challenge of prioritizing competing tasks and adapting to dynamic environments.Proven experience forecasting shifts and opportunities in the adventure travel market segment, developing, engaging with, and running small marketing campaigns.Personal and professional history of planning complex domestic and international trips.Ability to analyze intricate financial, enrollment and marketing data.Cultural agility and understanding related to working with global partners and contractors.Demonstrated proficiency with incoming customer service environments.Strong track record of multi-channel communication with the ability to distinguish tone and content based on audience and mechanism of communication.Experience building revenue and expense budgets.Writing competence including the ability to craft clear and compelling trip descriptions, customer communications, and varied marketing materials, including the Alumni Guide, our department\'s program catalog.Fluency with database and web-based applications, Word, Excel, and the Microsoft suite.Experience hiring, supervising, training, and developing employees.Preference for someone intimately familiar with NOLS product offerings,Being a NOLS Expedition course leader, instructor, or graduate is a plusWho are we and what can we offer you?NOLS is a nonprofit global wilderness school that seeks to help people step forward boldly as a leader. Please email with your request.The the Alumni Trips Director you will be responsible for formal business relationships spanning many countries and cultures around the world as well as internal constituent groups. Additionally, this position works with the Risk Management department to assess and manage risk on alumni trips.Ideal candidates who are qualified NOLS Expedition Instructors may also work alumni trips each year. While this is not a defined percentage of the position, it could account for up to 20% of an employee\'s work time depending on program needs in a given year.Qualified candidates are likely to work several Alumni trips in a given year in order to maintain connection to customers and assist with ongoing growth around new destinations.
