Introduction

The Economist Intelligence Unit\xe2\x80\x99s Healthcare Consulting Division offers sector-focused research and strategic advisory services for organisations across healthcare. The health policy and clinical evidence practice provides high quality analysis and original research on a range of pressing global health issues to provide policymakers and industry with unique insights.

Currently, we are seeking to hire a highly motivated and talented analyst or senior analyst in London or Washington to augment our dynamic, influential global team and to design and deliver an expanding range of products and services. The analyst will principallly deliver projects around evidence-based clinical research and health policy analyses that drive high-quality effective organisational decisions, impactful external engagement to improve health and healthcare. The position will entail working with clients in both the public and the private sector.

The analyst/senior analyst will work with a team of healthcare analysts in multi-country project engagements alongside other parts of the EIU. They will deliver projects relating to evidence reviews, health systems research, country comparisons and healthcare consulting engagements.

Accountabilities

How will you contribute:

  • Review and appraise healthcare research
  • Extract and synthesise quantitative and qualitative data from research or healthcare information
  • Interpret and communicate conclusions from research or healthcare information
  • Understand client requirements and interact with clients
  • Represent EIU Healthcare to clients and stakeholders
  • Be member of a project team executing either single or multi-country project engagement in the healthcare industry
  • Project manage and support other project managers during the course of the project engagement, including communicating project updates, presenting key milestones, pre-empting project issues, managing different client stakeholders
Experience, skills and professional attributes

The ideal skills for the role are:
  • A science or health related degree (e.g. biomedical science, public health, health economics)
  • Postgraduate qualification or post-degree experience e.g. PhD or equivalent experience in a health related field
  • Experience in systematic reviews, economic modelling, health research or research design, evaluation and interpretation
  • Experience in communicating complex concepts and information clearly to a range of audiences
  • Excellent organisational, time management and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Word, Powerpoint and Excel skills
  • Relevant experience in healthcare consulting or public health consulting an advantage
  • Proven track record in project execution in the healthcare sector
  • Exceptional command of written and spoken English, good command of a second European language would be an advantage
You will also be able to demonstrate:
  • Confidence, diplomacy and ability to utilize evidence-based approach and knowledge to handle unfamiliar topics with ambiguous input, and demanding clients
  • Capacity to interpret client needs, create compelling proposals and manage stakeholders through transparent and effective communications
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, and work well with people at all levels in an organization
  • Willingness to travel to present at client events or to support sales and business development activities
  • Versatility, ability to think both inside and outside of the box and solution-driven
  • Passion about all things related to the topic of health
