Where you\xe2\x80\x99ll Work:

This Internship will be working with the Pricing Operations Department where you will be responsible for owning one or more projects assigned to you at the beginning of the week. The intern will actively contribute to meaningful software projects and work closely with skilled software developers and with senior leadership. Our growth-oriented company is dedicated to providing you with valuable learning opportunities, such as having the chance to learn functional use of tools like Excel, VBA, SQL, Oracle, Tableau, Alteryx, Jira, and Confluence.

What you\xe2\x80\x99ll do:

Cigna\xe2\x80\x99s 10 \xe2\x80\x93 12 week summer internship program is designed to help further develop your analytical skills and business acumen in a dynamic work environment. This opportunity will give you the chance to be a part of the following offerings:

\xe2\x80\x9cReal\xe2\x80\x9d work through an Intern Project: You will be assigned a software project supporting internal process engineering efforts in which you may help to:

Develop software applications (VBA, SQL, Oracle, Tableau, Alteryx, and/or Confluence)

Convert the requirements of project plans into code

Analyze requirements to identify optimal execution strategies

Document and test new software applications

Present your Intern Project

Community: Build relationships with our business partners, team members and other interns.

Leader Speaker Series: You and your fellow interns will be exposed to a variety of sessions and presentations given by members of the Cigna community.

What you need to do the job:

Ideal candidate will be progressing toward a bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree have completed at last 3 years; preferred majors/minors include Computer Science, IT, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Actuarial Science, Data Science, Mathematics or a related field

3.0 GPA or higher is preferred

Proficiency with Microsoft office software, Microsoft Excel is required

Experience programming is required, Visual Basic (VBA) is a plus

Working knowledge in SQL, Oracle, Tableau, Alteryx, Jira, and/or Confluence is a plus

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills

Strong business aptitude

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Additional Information:

Location: This is a Hybrid position out of St. Louis MO. A hybrid position means that you will be expected to work in-person at your assigned office location more than 50% of time per week, with flexibility to work at home for balance of time.

Work Authorization: One goal of this internship program is to prepare and identify qualified candidates for roles with Cigna post-graduation. Therefore, this temporary internship is open only to individuals who are eligible for employment in the United States and who would not require visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Start Date: May 20th, 2024

Market Range: For this position, we anticipate offering an hourly rate of $21 - $24 an hour depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
