In pursuit of those meaningful client experiences, Vanguard is looking to add an Application Engineer to its crew. This role provides a unique opportunity to not only lend technical expertise across a variety of platforms but is also empowered to provide thought leadership and best practices across Vanguard\xe2\x80\x99s suite of Product Families.

Tech Stack:

Angular, Node.js, NestJS, and Typescript & JavaScript

Experience with AWS including ECS, CloudFront, S3, and Lambda.

Skills to be successful in this role:

Programming experience

• Highly collaborative, a fast learner and willing to work wherever you\xe2\x80\x99re needed on the team.

• Able to achieve results against goals linked to key performance indicators.

• Experienced with software engineering fundamentals including object-oriented design, data structures, dependency injection, testable code, and algorithms.

• Experienced with software engineering tools, such as VSCode, WebStorm, Git, and others.

• Able to write clean, maintainable code, and read code created by others.

• Quick learner who can learn and develop applying a new framework within a single sprint.

• Strong written and oral communication skills

• Strong, proven analysis and problem-solving skills

• Strong planning and organizational skills

Qualifications:

• 5+ years Extensive software engineering experience
• Developing and mentoring junior and senior developers
• Strong planning and organizational skills
• Ability to implement instrumentation to gather business-specific metrics around consumer usage patterns

Core Responsibilities

1. Provides senior level system analysis, design, development, and implementation of applications and databases. Integrates third party products.

2. Translates technical specifications into code for complex new or enhancement projects for internal clients. Writes programs, develops code, tests artifacts, and produces reports. Employs software development techniques to ensure tests are implemented in a way that support automation.

3. Elevates code into the development, test, and production environments on schedule. Provides follow up production support. Submits change control requests and documents.

4. Thoroughly understands software development methodology. Thoroughly understands development architecture standards. Trains and mentors staff with less experience. Resolves elevated issues.

5. Participates in design, code, and test inspections throughout the life cycle to identify issues. Explains technical considerations at related meetings, including those with internal clients. Performs systems analysis activities.

6. Thoroughly understands client business functions and technology needs. Has a broad understanding of Vanguard?s technologies, tools, and applications, including those that collaborate with business area and systems.

7. Works with crossmulti-functional members, and communicates systems issues at the appropriate technical level for each audience.

8. Thoroughly understands and stays in sync with Information Technology and Information Security policies and procedures, and verifies that deliverables meet requirements.

9. Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years related work experience, with at least one year of development experience.
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
