Overview

Arts Are Core ( ) is seeking a Program Coordinator II to work with Utah State University\'s Beverley Taylor Sorenson Endowed Program Director to plan and implement professional development learning opportunities to build educator capacity in the arts and in arts integration.

The primary duty of the Program Coordinator II is to work collaboratively with the Arts Are Core, Beverley Taylor Sorenson Endowed Program Director for Elementary Arts Education to plan and implement professional development learning opportunities to build educator capacity in the arts and in arts integration.

The Utah State University (USU) Arts Are Core offers year-round professional development opportunities in arts integration for K-12 teachers, instructional coaches, arts educators, and USU students. Arts Are Core hosts an Arts Integration Conference and supports the BTS Arts program-a statewide K-6 arts integration program ( ).

This position will be hired at 30 hours per week. Applicant availability must be during regular business hours. Limited telework within the state of Utah is available at the Department\'s discretion.

Responsibilities

Performs duties and responsibilities as specified, which may include the following:

  • Collaborate with the Arts Are Core director to plan and implement professional development learning opportunities to build educator capacity in the arts and in arts integration.
  • Plan and execute an annual arts integration conference, workshops, and special events.
  • Prepare visiting artist contracts, prepare hotel/travel arrangements for presenters, make arrangements for food at events, copy handouts, create and distribute promotional materials, create registration websites, order materials, and communicate with participants and presenter about events. Complete forms and maintain accurate records regarding budgets and grants.
  • Create and format teaching materials delivered online and in various formats.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Attend statewide BTS Arts meetings with the Endowed Program Director for Elementary Arts Education.
  • Attend statewide arts conferences.
  • Assist with additional outreach projects in the schools such as Art in Transit: From Schools to Community, an annual student art exhibition, and artist residencies in the schools.
  • Manage materials and supplies, maintain website and social media presence.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor\'s degree plus two years of relevant experience; OR a Masters Degree in an arts field, elementary education, arts education or related field; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Interest in education and/or arts education.
  • Experience in software programs such as Microsoft Office, Canvas, and Zoom.
  • Teaching license or administrative experience in the arts or significant arts experience.
  • Experience with curriculum creation and assessment.
  • Experience with adult learners.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Administrative skills (event planning, writing proposals, grant reports, financial monitoring, document organization, etc.).
  • Evaluation skills (survey management, data analysis, Qualtrics, Google Forms, Survey Monkey, etc.)
  • Ability to collaborate with schools and community organizations, working knowledge of public and charter school environments.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient information technology skills
  • A positive, collaborative disposition.
