Job Description


Applies skill and dexterity in the assembly of components into finished devices, in keeping with regulatory and company guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Use higher level tools and equipment for complex assembly of medical devices and package and prepare labeling for completed devices. Conduct inventory reconciliation at start of day and when transitioning to next work order. Work at a level of greater independence with advanced level of quality and productivity.
  • Self-assessment of work, which may include visual inspection and sequential review of colleagues work.
  • Assure appropriate settings and parameters of equipment for precise assembly and inspection of medical devices.
  • Assures compliance to procedure and training received through Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Perform Line Clearance and follow Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
  • May provide feedback to Engineering on raw materials and product assembly.
  • Other incidental duties (e.g. occasional photo copying or deliveries)
Education and Experience:
H.S. Diploma or equivalent previous medical device assembly experience Preferred
2 years experience previous related experience Required

Additional Skills:
  • Good communication skills
  • Able to read basic writing skills, comprehend and speak English, and elementary-level understanding of numerical functions
  • Ability to use required hand tools, hand eye coordination, and high manual dexterity
  • Good understanding of manufacturing procedures
  • Ability to understand and follow complex work documentation, using strict attention to detail
  • Ability to identify and segregate nonconformance errors
  • May require to do basic math calculations
  • Knowledge of and adherence to Edwards Environmental Health and Safety and Quality guidelines as they relate to department clean room medical device manufacturing
  • Proven ability to complete, retain, and incorporate training coursework in the performance of new and advanced work procedures
  • Flexibility to work overtime and varying shifts
  • Knowledge and adherence to Good Manufacturing and Good Documentation Practices supporting a medical device environment
  • Must be able to work in a team environment and with minimum supervision by following detailed manufacturing instructions
  • Adhere to all company rules and requirements (e.g., pandemic protocols, Environmental Health & Safety rules) and take adequate control measures in preventing injuries to themselves and others as well as to the protection of environment and prevention of pollution under their span of influence/control

For California, the base pay range for this position is $37,000 to $50,000 (highly experienced).
