Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Assistant Baker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in baking and food preparation, with a keen eye for detail and creativity. As an Assistant Baker, you will be responsible for producing high-quality baked goods, including donuts, pastries, and bread, while ensuring adherence to food safety standards. Your role will also involve collaborating with the kitchen team to fulfill catering orders and maintain a clean and organized workspace.

Duties

Assist head baker in the preparation and baking of various goods Measure and prepare ingredients according to recipes Mix dough and batters to the correct consistency Monitor baking times and temperatures to ensure products are baked to perfection Decorate and finish baked goods as needed Maintain a clean and organized workspace, following food safety and sanitation guidelines Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow Assist in the development of new recipes and products Provide excellent customer service when interacting with customers Operate and maintain baking equipment and tools Assist in the training of new staff members Perform other duties as assigned by the head baker or lead

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent Previous experience in a bakery or culinary setting preferred Basic knowledge of baking techniques and ingredients Ability to follow recipes accurately Strong attention to detail Good organizational and time management skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays Passion for baking and a desire to learn and grow Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards Ability to operate baking equipment and tools Creativity and a keen eye for detail in decorating baked goods Positive attitude and strong work ethic Ability to operate bakery equipment safely and efficiently

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $17.55 - $18.35 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 40 per week
