This position is located at Smithton Middle School.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

• Maintain the volleyball program.
• Maintaining positive communication with patrons and parents of athletes and potential athletes.
• Assist with coordinating off-season camps and conditioning programs.
• Encouraging good sportsmanship and enthusiasm for the sport.
• Collaborating with other coaches to ensure a comprehensive approach to athletes.
• Ensuring compliance with MSHAA.
• Maintaining statistics on all players.

All those applying for coaching positions with CPS should have an understanding/history of positive coaching and a willingness to implement positive coaching standards upon hired.REPORTING RELATIONSHIPSReports To: Principal, Building Athletic Director and Head CoachSupervises: NoneQUALIFICATIONSMinimum: Minimum: 60 hours of college credit is required; Missouri Substitute teaching certificate is preferred; however candidates can be hired as a provisional coach.If hired as a coach via a substitute certificate, the individual must satisfactorily complete (make a grade of 80% to pass) a MSHSAA approved coaches education program (NFICEP) before he/she can be hired for a coaching position in any subsequent year. In addition, all coaches despite certification status must attend a NFICEP first-aid class and pass the exit test given at that time.Preferred: Bachelor\'s degree; Missouri teaching certificate; Prior teaching/coaching experience.Ideal candidate will have a professional and friendly demeanor with a demonstrated ability to work well with a variety of individuals in a fast-paced environment.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
