Assistant ControllerClassification: ExemptSalary Grade: 9Reports to: Chief Accounting Officer Date: March 3, 2023Summary/ObjectiveThe Assistant Controller is responsible for directing all activities to prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.Primary Functions1. Directs the following accounting functions, including but not limited to:

• General Ledger entries and account reconciliation
• Accounts Payable/Receivable and correspondent relationships including the Federal Reserve
• Systems and procedures to maintain proper financial records and internal controls
• Month-end, quarter-end, and year-end preparation of financial and regulatory reporting
• Preparation of the annual report and annual disclosure

2. Prepares and/or liaisons with outside accounting firm and government agencies for all federal, state, and local tax requirements, including income, property, and sales tax.

• Oversees fixed asset management and proper recording of assets.

• Prepares quarterly shareholder distribution, stock transfers, and shareholder reporting.

• Prepares holding company eliminating entries, consolidated statements, and reports.

• Hires, develops, trains and maintains a highly functional dynamic team to ensure all operational processes are consistently followed.

• Ability to independently mentor and manage staff, including motivating, coaching, and counseling, while adhering to the Banks Vision, Core Competencies and Moments of Truth.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.Travel
Minimal travel is expected for this position.Required Education and Experience

• High School graduate or GED and 5 years of related experience or Bachelors degree & minimum of 3 years of related experience.

• Proficiency in computer applications.

Preferred Education and Experience

• Bachelors Degree or more than 7 years of related experience.

• Knowledge of bank operations.
