The seeks a full-time attorney for its Workers Compensation Unit to provide legal representation before the Workers Compensation Commission and state trial and appellate courts. The successful applicant will handle a high volume of workers compensation cases on a regular basis at the Workers Compensation Commission, litigate appeals of those cases in the Circuit Court and appellate courts, and work closely with the County\'s Third-Party Administrator in the defense of these claims.
This position will require the incumbent to frequently attend meetings, depositions, and appointments at various locations throughout the state of Maryland including appearing at the Maryland Workers\' Compensation Commission in Beltsville, MD on a weekly/multi-weekly basis.
This position may be filled at the level, Grade N27, salary: $79,743 - $128,531 or level, Grade N32, salary: $98,037 - $158,802. Hiring Salary will be based on candidate\'s experience and may be subject to approval by the Office of Human Resources.

Minimum Qualifications
If filled as Assistant County Attorney II level, Grade N27:
Education: Graduation from an accredited university school of law.
Experience: Two (2) years of professional experience as an attorney, including trial experience or workers compensation experience.
Equivalency: None.
LICENSE: Membership in the Maryland State Bar. Note: There will be no substitutions for this section.
If filled as Assistant County Attorney III level, Grade N32:
Education: Graduation from an accredited university school of law.
Experience: Four (4) years of professional experience as an attorney, including four (4) years of jury trial experience in personal injury, criminal law, and/or workers\' compensation.
Equivalency: None.
LICENSE: Membership in the Maryland State Bar. Note: There will be no substitutions for this section.
