Supervises the Public Works Department (Water, Wastewater, Streets) and ensures correct technical operation of Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants and equipment. Supervises actions and training of all employees. Oversees budgeting, educational development for employees and all purchasing processes. Cleans, repairs, and replaces Water treatment plant parts as needed. Follows all governmental regulations and conducts reporting and testing for state and federal agencies as required. The Assistant Director is also responsible for troubleshooting water plant and distribution system issues as well as programming of SCADA, controls, and PLC programming.

Supervises the work of assigned personnel, including assigning and prioritizing work, providing guidance, and conducting performance evaluations.
Manages the operations of the Water and or Wastewater Treatment Plants.
Ensures proper functioning of equipment and machinery. Performs or oversees maintenance and repair.
Ensures the adherence to all state and federal regulations and testing for State and Federal agencies.
Oversees training of existing and new employees in public utility sections.
Participates in the development and administration of the departmental budget. Approves and monitors expenditures.
Responds to alarms or emergencies as needed.
Performs related work as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Education and Experience
Associate's degree or at least 8 years of related experience
Experience with Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA)
At least five (5) years of related work experience
Required Licenses or Certifications
Obtain a wastewater license within a year.
