JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Penn State Hazleton invites applications for an Assistant Teaching Professor or Lecturer of Information Sciences and Technology (IST). Assistant teaching professor title designates completion of terminal degree. This is a multi-year appointment, 3 years with an option for renewal, 36 weeks, to begin August 5, 2024, or as negotiated.
Responsibilities: Teach each semester using traditional, hybrid, and online delivery methods. Successful candidates will be able to instruct courses within the Information Sciences and Technology baccalaureate program. Courses range from introductory subjects Information, People, and Technology, Organization of Data, Information, and Organizations) to upper level (IT Project Management, The Information Environment) and courses in cybersecurity (Malware Analytics, Cybersecurity Analytics Studio, etc.). Teaching assignments may require teaching day and/or evening as needed.
Faculty are expected to engage in activities to stay current in the discipline, advise students and provide career guidance, participate in campus, university, and community service activities, and participate in course, curriculum, and program development.

Qualifications: Minimum of Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Information, Sciences, and Technology, Cybersecurity, or related discipline from an accredited institution.
Campus Information: Penn State Hazleton is one of more than 20 Penn State campuses state-wide. It is a student-centered, residential campus of approximately 550 students. The coursework for the first two years of more than 160 Penn State baccalaureate majors is offered, as well as 13 baccalaureate degrees, including a B.S. in Information Technology, B.S. in Computer Science, and 5 associate degrees.
Students and faculty at Penn State Hazleton have all the resources of a major research university at their disposal, but in a small college atmosphere. Class sizes are small, and the student/faculty ratio is low, so students can receive much individual attention. Our faculty members are committed to providing a high-quality educational experience to their students and are actively engaged in research.
