Perfect for recently licensed Nevada attorneys looking for work/life balance and experience in criminal defense! We are seeking a passionate Criminal Defense Attorney to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to criminal defense. You must want to be in court as this will require your attendance in court 3-4 days a week. The role involves managing a diverse caseload, developing defense strategies, conducting legal research, and providing exceptional legal representation. Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in criminal cases from arraignment through trial, including pre-trial hearings, motions, plea negotiations, and jury trials.
- Conduct thorough investigations, gather evidence, interview witnesses, and develop effective defense strategies.
- Stay abreast of changes in criminal law and procedure to provide knowledgeable and up-to-date representation.
- Collaborate with legal team members to prepare for court appearances and strategize on complex cases.
- Provide clients with informed legal advice, clear communication, and compassionate support throughout the legal process.
- Draft legal documents, including briefs, motions, and appeals.
- Participate in community outreach and legal education initiatives.
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- License to practice law in Nevada.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Commitment to the principles of criminal defense and client advocacy.
- Ability to handle a high caseload and multitask effectively.
- Proficiency in legal research software and case management tools.
- Prior experience in criminal defense preferred but not required
