Position Summary
The School of Professional Studies is seeking an Associate Director, Faculty Affairs. This leader will manage systems, processes and programs to support the school\xe2\x80\x99s full-time and adjunct faculty during their life-cycle at the university, ensuring compliance with School and University policies. The position will manage contracts for full-time faculty; review requests for and execute MOUs for adjunct faculty; and independently plan and direct all faculty-related events for the SPS Office of Academic and Faculty Affairs. The role will also lead the confidential nomination and selection processes for staffing school-wide and University-wide committees in collaboration with the Faculty Council, collaborating with and advising the Faculty Council and faculty committees on the overall governance structure at SPS. The Associate Director will play a key role in managing budgets and special projects, supervising staff and developing website content and other communications.
Qualifications
Required Education:
Bachelor\'s Degree
Preferred Education:
Master\'s Degree Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree in higher education administration, human resources, or other related field. or
Required Experience:
5+ years Progressively responsible experience with human resources management and/or faculty services or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must include experience in interpreting and communicating policies to various stakeholders. and
Preferred Experience:
5+ years Related experience at a large, complex, decentralized higher education institution. or
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent customer service, problem solving, organization, interpersonal, and communication skills. Ability to deliver consistently high quality, timely service and handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously in a high volume academic environment. Ability to establish priorities and to work independently and as part of a team, take initiative, and follow through to completion. Ability to interpret policies to faculty and senior level executives. Ability to develop relationships with key constituents at all levels of the school and throughout the University. Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with integrity and discretion. Knowledge of standard office software. Demonstrated ability to adapt successfully to fast-paced and changing work environment and needs.

In compliance with NYC\'s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $80,000.00 to USD $100,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate\'s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
