Job Summary:
Briggs Automotive Group is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Automotive Recon Painter to join our team in Topeka, Kansas. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for performing high-quality paint jobs on vehicles as part of our vehicle reconditioning process. This is a full-time position offering a competitive hourly rate plus commission. This is an individual contributor role, meaning you will have the opportunity to take ownership of your work and make a direct impact on the success of our company.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare vehicles for painting by sanding, masking, and priming
- Use paint mixing and matching techniques to accurately match vehicle colors
- Apply paint using various techniques such as spray guns, brushes, and rollers
- Ensure an even and flawless application of paint on all surfaces
- Follow safety procedures at all times to prevent accidents
- Keep work area clean and organized
- Communicate with team members to ensure efficient workflow
- Meet production goals and deadlines
- Continuously monitor and maintain paint inventory levels
- Conduct quality inspections on completed paint jobs and make any necessary touch-ups or corrections
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends and new painting techniques
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as an automotive painter or vocational training
- Strong knowledge of paint mixing and matching techniques
- Proficient in using various painting tools and techniques
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be detail-oriented
- Knowledge of safety procedures and standards in an auto body shop
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds
- Must have a valid driver\'s license and pass a background check
