Job Description


ASR is seeking experienced Aviation Life Support System Technician and a Lead Supervisor to perform O-Level operations and maintenance support on Aviation Life Support System (ALSS) assets at Marine Aviation Weapons and Tactics Squadron One (MAWTS-1) aboard MCAS Yuma, Arizona.Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the CH-53E/K, V-22, UH-1Y, AH-1Z, C-130J, F-18C/D, AV-8B, and F-35B/C O-Level maintenance tasks; including, but not limited to:
  • The troubleshooting, removal, installation, repair, inspection, and/or documentation of: egress and escape systems, inflatable systems; emergency radio systems; survival items and personal equipment; pyrotechnics, and/or other related ordnance; aircrew breathing systems; and support equipment.
  • The acceptance and transfer of: egress and escape systems; inflatable systems; emergency radio systems; flight clothing; survival items and personal equipment; pyrotechnics, CADS/PADS, and/or other related ordnance; aircrew breathing systems; and support equipment.
  • The fitting, manufacture, troubleshooting, removal, installation, repair, inspection, and/or documentation of flight clothing.
  • The handling, stowage, and safety precautions associated with pyrotechnics, CADS/PADS, and/or other related ordnance; and aircrew breathing systems.
  • Perform pre-flight (which could include pre-positioning support equipment, and flight gear) to ensure aircrew equipment is ready for use, in support of the sorties and timelines of the daily flight schedule and/or fleet support periods.
  • Perform pre/post-op checks and operation of support equipment, to include conditional, scheduled inspections, and periodic maintenance. The services described above may be performed multiple times each day as the flight schedule or maintenance dictates.
  • Perform and support Corrosion Control and ensure aircraft components, ALSS gear and SE services are performed IAW governing directives by ensuring all inspection standards are met.
  • Perform all corrosion prevention and treatment IAW applicable directives. The Contractor shall check ALSS for tools and other foreign objects that could potentially put the aircraft or aircrew at risk. Corrosion Control services may be performed multiple times each day.
  • Perform assigned scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on flight equipment as coordinated by Squadron and/or designated Maintenance Control Government representative IAW the designated maintenance manuals for assigned aircraft and equipment.
  • Perform inspection, disassembly, repair, servicing, TD compliance, modification, assembly, surface finish removal, corrosion control, preservation/ de-preservation services
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years Navy/Marines Maintenance experience.
  • For ALSS Supervisor, a minimum of 15 years Navy/Marines Maintenance experience is required.
  • Satisfactory completion of Navy PR \xe2\x80\x9cA\xe2\x80\x9d school or equivalent service school.
  • Intermediate level experience as an Aircrew Survival Equipment Mechanic is preferred.
  • Applicable training, qualifications, and certifications required to perform services as indicated in Naval Aviation Maintenance Program, COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2_ Series and Class V Ammunition and Explosive Material required for effectively maintaining and supporting ALSS. Qualification and certification shall be required for personnel performing Class V Ammunition and Explosive Material work in accordance with MCO 8023.3 Series.
  • Current and medically qualified per NAVMED P-117 standards to maintain night vision systems.
  • Possess an extensive understanding of the USMC aviation activities with routine exposure to training.
  • Possess, or be able to attain, comprehensive knowledge of aircraft systems and capabilities across all United States service branches, U.S. allies, and other military or contracted aircraft inventories.
  • Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain one.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain CAC Card.
  • Certifications/Licensing as required by the Program Training and Certification Manual.
  • Must be able to pass periodic medical surveillance evaluations which may include respirator fit testing when required.
