Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Barista & Kitchen Crew Member to join our team at our Loussac Library location. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys crafting high-quality coffee beverages while also contributing to food preparation in a fun, fast-paced, and customer-focused environment.

The ideal candidate is friendly, outgoing, and efficient, with a passion for great coffee, delicious food, and excellent service. You should be able to work well under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude and ensuring quality in every drink and dish served.

Responsibilities:

Barista Duties:

Prepare and serve espresso-based beverages, teas, and other specialty drinks with consistency and precision. Maintain quality control of all beverages, ensuring they meet company standards. Operate, clean, and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and other equipment. Take and process customer orders accurately, handling cash and card transactions efficiently. Provide friendly and knowledgeable customer service, including making drink and food recommendations.

Kitchen Duties:

Prepare and assemble food items, including sandwiches, pastries, and other menu offerings. Follow recipes and portion guidelines for consistency and cost control. Ensure proper food handling and storage to maintain health and safety standards. Keep prep areas, kitchen equipment, and utensils clean and organized.

General Responsibilities:

Work collaboratively with team members to maintain a smooth and efficient operation. Uphold all health, safety, and sanitation procedures. Restock supplies and ingredients as needed throughout shifts. Maintain a clean and welcoming cafe environment.

Requirements:

Previous experience as a barista, in food preparation, or in a customer service role preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Comfortable standing for extended periods and performing light lifting. A passion for coffee, food, and providing an exceptional customer experience.
