Learning Through Play:



It's OK if you haven't worked as a behavior technician before. We will provide you with training and support to learn about implementation of ABA therapy. In fact, in the early days of your employment we will support you in achieving the Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) credential. This could be the jumping off place for a whole new career!

The Goods:



Starting pay of $16.00/hour (increases after passing the RBT certification) with more senior member of the team earning up to $21.00/hour

Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 4:30 PM center based schedule

Mentorship with experienced RBTs and BCBAs

What Does a Behavior Technician Do at DASH?



Work 1:1 with children with autism under the direct supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) by applying evidence-based techniques

Teach individuals with autism focusing on communication, play, making friends, and age appropriate skill building

Follow treatment plans prescribed by BCBAs while promptly communicating new, relevant information back to BCBAs to help refine plans

Keep clients motivated by tailoring activities/techniques to their preferences

Respond intentionally to challenging behavior by helping clients de-escalate and prompting appropriate skills

Maintain accurate records of client performance/progress via data collection and clinical notes while adhering to privacy and other requirements

Partner with BCBAs and clinical leadership to build relationships with families by providing effective, relatable information

Prepare materials for upcoming sessions

Support other technicians as needed

Adhere to HIPPA and ethical guidelines

Attend meetings, trainings, and workshops to acquire further knowledge

Help with initiatives outside clinical role as requested

Support growth efforts by sharing job postings and participating in community outreach events

Toilet training and diaper changing may be required


About You:



Have an energetic attitude and desire to help kids succeed

High School diploma or equivalent required

Coursework in psychology/related field preferred

Experience working with children preferred

Experience with special needs individuals preferred

Must be able to maintain a reliable schedule

Are sensitive to working with an ethnically, linguistically, culturally, and economically diverse population

Have the ability to remain calm and neutral in challenging situations

Have successful background clearance and reference checks
