The Behavioral Health Escalation Specialist is an individual contributor role responsible for an exciting variety of responsibilities in Specialty Networks of OptumHealth. We are looking for someone who is detail - oriented, yet can see the big picture. We are in need of that rare person who balances strong analytical skills with a positive, team - focused personality.

This position is full - time, Monday - Friday. Employees are required to work any 8-hour shift between the hours of 10:30 AM - 7:00 PM CST including the flexibility to work occasional overtime based on business need.

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
  • 2+ years of Healthcare Insurance experience
  • 2+ years of Telephonic Customer Service experience
  • 1+ years of Optum behavioral health experience
  • Experience with Medical terminology
  • Experience with using Microsoft Word (create and edit correspondence), Microsoft Excel (ability to create, edit, and sort spreadsheets, basic analytical formulas, VLOOKUP, if), and Microsoft Outlook (email and calendar management)
  • Ability to work any 8-hour shift between the hours of 10:30 AM - 7:00 PM CST from Monday - Friday including the flexibility to work occasional overtime based on business need
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor\'s Degree (or higher)
  • 1+ years of appeals OR claims experience in any of the following areas: Processing, Operations, Appeal Levels, Letter Writing, etc.
  • Experience in a professional Leadership role
Telecommuting Requirements:
  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service
