JOB SUMMARY:
With minimal supervision, performs repair and scheduled maintenance on electrical/electronic and/or mechanical patient care and non-patient care equipment.
- Performs safety checks, as needed, on rental and/or demo electrical and/or mechanical equipment, receptacles and personal electrical equipment for both patients and Associates.
- Performs testing of newly purchased equipment and inputting the information in the equipment database software.
- Maintains biomedical equipment supplies inventory by checking stock, anticipating needs; placing and expediting orders, verifying receipt.
- May be assigned special projects as necessary.
- Associate\'s degree in general electronics or BioMedical Electronics required. Proven equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of formal education at the discretion of the hiring manager.
- Previous relevant expereince in a hospital or equivalent work as a BioMed or electronics technician in field service work is preferred.
- Certified Biomed Equipment Tech (CBET) preferred.
- Must be able to use various hand tools and test equipment to perform safety testing, scheduled maintenance and/or repair on various pieces of patient care and non-patient care electronic and/or mechanical equipment to comply with regulatory requirements.
- Must have documentation skills, skills to analyze information and good time management skills.
