Job Title: Bookkeeper

Location: Chicago area - Belmont Ave Area or will also consider, Fairfield County-Norwalk/Monroe CT (Preference for On-Site, Hybrid Considered)

Job Type: Full-Time or Part-Time (prefer on site but open to hybrid) IL & CT ONLY

About Us:

We are a rapidly growing veterinary hospital with three locations, dedicated to providing exceptional care to pets and their families. As we continue to expand, we are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to manage financial transactions, reporting, and support our business operations.

Job Responsibilities:



Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries. Process invoices, payments, and reconcile bank and credit card statements. Assist with financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting to support business growth. Utilize QuickBooks to track financial data, generate reports, and ensure accurate record-keeping. Manage expense tracking and prepare monthly financial statements. Support tax preparation and compliance by maintaining organized financial records. Assist with payroll processing and benefits administration as needed. Work closely with management to analyze financial performance and provide insights. Maintain confidentiality of financial information and company records.

Job Requirements:



Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel (advanced skills preferred). Minimum 2 years experience Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles, financial reporting, and reconciliations. Experience in veterinary, healthcare, or multi-location business accounting is a plus. High attention to detail and accuracy in financial data management. Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with the management team. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to streamline financial processes. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Minimum of 3 years of bookkeeping experience (or equivalent financial management experience).

Work Arrangement:



On-site preferred (Belmont Ave-Chicago Area or Norwalk-Monroe Connecticut Area) Open to hybrid work after an initial training period.
