A Boat House is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented
Bookkeeper / Title Clerk
to join our team. This critical role is responsible for
managing real-time bookkeeping, processing boat sales and registrations, maintaining accurate financial records, handling accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring compliance with state regulations.
The ideal candidate is proactive, analytical, and comfortable juggling multiple tasks in a fast-paced dealership environment.
Key Responsibilities
Title & Sales Processing:
Process boat sales, including
all state registration and titling paperwork
, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Work with customers, banks, and lenders to
prepare and finalize financing paperwork
.
Register customer units with the state, manage title transfers, and resolve any discrepancies.
Track
outstanding title work
to ensure timely completion and delivery.
Bookkeeping & Accounting:
Maintain accurate, real-time bookkeeping records
using QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
Reconcile accounts daily
, including accounts payable (A/P) and accounts receivable (A/R).
Process vendor invoices, issue payments, and manage bill payments to ensure accounts remain current.
Prepare and analyze financial reports, including
balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger adjustments
.
Assist with
budget tracking, tax preparation, and compliance reporting
.
Identify and resolve
financial discrepancies
in a timely manner.
Administrative & Customer Support:
Answer incoming customer calls and direct them to the appropriate department.
Work closely with sales, finance, and service teams to facilitate smooth transactions.
Maintain organized financial and title records, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date.
Provide
exceptional customer service
when handling title inquiries, payments, and documentation needs.
Requirements & Qualifications:
Proven experience
in bookkeeping, title processing, or dealership accounting.
Strong understanding of
accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reconciliation
.
Familiarity with
QuickBooks, Lightspeed Marine, or other dealership management software
is a plus.
Experience with
state titling and registration processes
(preferably in Georgia) or willingness to learn.
Ability to
multi-task and prioritize
in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
Strong
communication skills
, both verbal and written, to interact with customers and internal teams.
Must be
proactive, reliable, and able to work independently
