Job Description

A Sales Manager is responsible for securing and achieving budget revenue and profit goals for the company, as well as maximizing the sales team to its full potential. This individual operates under limited supervision and directly reports to the Branch Manager. The Sales Manager is expected to work as necessary to perform duties required.

?Responsibilities:

Responsible for the recruitment, hiring and management of a sales team. Responsible for solving customer issues. Mentors and trains the sales team. Sets individual sales goals/objectives. Monitors the overall and individual performance of the sales team. Develops and implements strategies for gaining and maintaining the regional market share. Achieves growth while hitting sales targets by successfully managing the sales team. Builds and promotes a strong, long-lasting customer relationship. Schedules and executes weekly and monthly sales meetings. Schedules sales calls with customers and potential customers. Travel to customer locations and job sites to make sales calls and follow up on customer needs. Attends industry exhibits, demonstrations, and networking activities with various trade associations. Monitors new product developed by our manufacturers and competitors. Ensures literature, brochures and pricing sheets are organized and up to date. Responsible for branch collections. Works closely with Credit Manager, Sales Team, and Branch Manager to resolve credit/payment issues. Adheres to Company safety program. Performs other tasks as assigned by the Branch Manager.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

Essential:

Must be proficient with basic computer skills. Must be proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel. Must have proficient oral and written communication skills. Must have excellent mentoring, coaching and people management skills. Possess a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. Must be able to pass a drug test, background check, and fit for duty test.

Desired:

Prefer candidates with experience in NexGen, 3-D Lift Plan, PowerPoint, and OSHA 20. Prefer candidates with at least a bachelor degree. * Prefer candidates with at least 3 years of sales experience, preferably in heavy equipment sales.
