Please contact the Florida Department of Transportation\'s Human Resources Office located at 605 Suwannee Street, Tallahassee, Florida 32399, or call (850) 414-5300 for assistance.POSITION DESCRIPTION: Acts as the Budget Coordinator for assigned Central Office units to provide guidance and help ensure that budget authority is accurately secured and consumed.Coordinates the submission of the annual Legislative Budget Request for assigned areas. This includes: reviews issues for technical accuracy and completeness and adjusts as required; Consolidates similar requests into one issue, verifies budget coding; Inputs issues into the statewide automated Legislative Appropriations System/Planning and Budgeting Subsystem (LAS/PBS). Prepares requests in final format for printing. Coordinates final distribution of the budget requests.Coordinates, organizes, processes and tracks Work Program and Budget amendments for the Budget Office.Contributes to the creation, maintenance and accuracy of a Master Allocation Table (MAT) dataset for all budget units within the Department. Lead analyst for other budget staff on the MATs. Coordinates with the electronic MAT system.Prepares recurring rate analyses used by all department managers. Directs and manages the rate evaluation process that provides an analysis for the Human Resources Office as part of the HR action approval process.Provides data analysis on rate scenarios for management upon request. Manages rate data and analysis when policy changes.Provides oversight for the accurate and timely development and processing of allotment transfer requests, including the posting of transfers within the Florida Accounting Information Resource Subsystem (FLAIR).Prepares monthly budget status reports, including the graphical interpretation of trending data for presentation to Executive Staff and District Budget Coordinators.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of the Legislative Budget Process; Knowledge of the Department\'s Work Program; Knowledge of financial management and best practices; Ability to understand and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures; Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques; Ability to make detailed analyses and management critiques of budget requests; Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments; Knowledge of the Legislative Appropriations System/Planning and Budgeting Subsystem (LAS/PBS); Ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing; Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; Skill in the use of computer software (i.e. Microsoft Office Suite including, at a minimum the following: Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel - including the ability to analyze data with pivot tables and vertical lookup tables).OTHER JOB-RELATED REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a level I background check.As a CANDIDATE, you may be required to provide documentation (i.e. HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR EQUIVALENCY, college transcripts, ETC.) to verify meeting these Minimum Qualifications.THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION VALUES THE SERVICE VETERANS AND THEIR FAMILY MEMBERS HAVE GIVEN TO OUR COUNTRY AND SUPPORTS THE HIRING OF RETURNING SERVICE MEMBERS AND MILITARY SPOUSES.
