SummaryUnder the direction of the Finance Director or his/her designee, this position is responsible for aiding the Finance Department with ongoing system software and process implementation and maintenance. Specifically, providing systems support, configuration, problem resolution, business analysis, process improvement, and customer support to users and stakeholders. In coordination with the Innovation and Technology department, plans, designs, configures, implements, monitors, maintains, and optimizes financial enterprise systems, databases, collaboration platforms, and cloud enterprise systems. Supervises staff assigned to system projects to ensure timely completion and execution. Exercises considerable initiative and independent judgment under the general supervision of the Finance Director.Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification.Assess and execute project plans, systems, process analysis, fulfillment of system requirements, and functional definition of planned system changes, according to the needs of the department and users.Customize and configure the Infor CloudSuite ERP Software package based on City requirements and in coordination with the Innovation and Technology Department.Tests changes with Finance department subject matter experts. Monitors the ERP and other financial systems to ensure the processes meet the needs of the department.Supervises and participates in the development and modification of systems, controls, procedures, and forms to promote effective and efficient financial management system operations of the Finance Department.Assists department staff in meeting project team goals and objectives.Performs training on the different financial system modules and develops user documentation and guides.Performs data conversion (EDEN to INFOR) and builds required reports/queries for users.Assist with process improvements (brainstorming potential solutions).Serves as a technical point of contact for information systems supporting Finance. Focuses on Finance ongoing support.Works closely with other subject matter experts to ensure data integrity, testing of system changes, report writing and analyzing data flows for process improvement opportunities during the implementation.Provides support for Finance Information systems including, but not limited to, researching, and resolving unexpected results or process flaws; perform scheduled activities; recommend solutions or alternate methods to meet requirements.Collaborates with peers and departmental users to complete project assignments and accomplish Finance department goals and directives. Communicates with users, vendors, and manufacturers, as needed, to resolve technical and business problems. Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates business needs and user requirements. Creates functional design and specifications as needed.Implements and project manages financial systems and performs documentation and product maintenance.Also performs support, troubleshoots, and resolves system problems. Conducts scheduled maintenance tasks in coordination with the Innovation and Technology Department.Performs other related tasks as required.QualificationsAssociate Degree in Computer Science, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field from an accredited college or university, and 5 years of responsible and relevant IT and/or Finance work experience; ORBachelor\'s Degree in Computer Science, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field from an accredited college or university, and 3 years of responsible and relevant IT and/or Finance work experience; OR6 years of years of responsible and relevant IT and/or Finance work experience.Any appropriate combination of relevant education and/or work experience will be considered.Valid Florida Driver\'s License.HOLIDAYS: 14 days including 3 floating days.SICK LEAVE: 110 hours annually.ANNUAL LEAVE: 94 hours in the first year of employment, increasing up to 210 after 25 years. Employees must take 40 hours of annual leave each year.BEREAVEMENT LEAVE: 5 or 10 days for the death of a family member in accordance with the City\'s Personnel Rules & Regulations.HEALTH INSURANCE: Fully paid by the City (HMO Select). Coverage becomes effective 1st of month following 30 days. Employee may purchase coverage for eligible dependents at a cost of approximately 50% of the premium.DENTAL INSURANCE: Available at a cost to all employees through payroll deduction.LIFE INSURANCE: Term Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment equal to 1 x annual salary (up to $200,000) fully paid by the City.VOLUNTARY BENEFITS: Several plans are available, such as Short Term Disability, Life Insurance and Critical Illness policies through payroll deductions.LEGAL SERVICES: Legal Service plan available at a cost to all employees through payroll deductions.POST EMPLOYMENT HEALTH PLAN (PEHP): The City deposits $950 annually into an individual account for each employee.
