Business Development Representative



LOCATION: Hybrid remote position including time at Woodstock, CT and Providence, RI

COMPENSATION: $50,000 plus commissionsREPORTING TO: Chief Revenue Officer

HOURS: 40 hours

ABOUT THE ROLE

Azuluna Foods is seeking a Business Development Representative to drive growth by expanding our wholesale and food service partnerships. This role will focus on developing relationships with specially retail stores, retirement communities, healthcare facilities, food service providers, and wholesale buyers who value regenerative, nutrient-dense, and sustainably sourced foods.

The ideal candidate is a tactical, results-driven professional with a passion for sustainable food systems and a proven track record in B2B sales, wholesale distribution, and food service business development.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Sales & Revenue Growth



Identify and develop new business opportunities in wholesale and food service sectors, including specialty retail stores, senior living communities, and institutional buyers Manage the full sales cycle, from prospecting and pitching to negotiation and closing deals. Meet and exceed sales targets by expanding Azuluna's footprint in key markets. Work with the marketing team to implement targeted sales strategies and promotional campaigns.

2. Wholesale Sales & Account Management



Build and maintain relationships with distributors, retailers, and large-scale food service providers. Maintain and execute wholesale pricing structures and bulk sales programs. Ensure timely order fulfillment and coordinate with operations and logistics teams to help manage inventory and deliveries. Provide excellent customer service and identify opportunities to increase sales within existing accounts.

3. Event & Trade Show Management



Represent Azuluna Foods at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to enhance brand visibility and drive new business. Coordinate sampling events, culinary demonstrations, and partnership activations to engage potential customers. Develop and manage event calendars, ensuring Azuluna maintains a strong presence in key industry spaces.

4. Collaboration & Cross-Functional Support



Work closely with operations and logistics teams to ensure seamless product fulfillment and customer satisfaction. Partner with the marketing team to further refine sales materials and promotional strategies. Support Azuluna's Healthy Classrooms initiative by educating our customers on the company's programs on regenerative farming, culinary arts & nutritional science nutrient-dense foods supporting local communities.
QUALIFICATIONS

3-5+ years of sales and business development experience in the food industry, with expertise in wholesale, distribution, and/or food service sales. Strong understanding of institutional food service operations and retail wholesale partnerships. Proven ability to build and maintain high-value B2B relationships. Experience managing in-store sampling activations. Excellent negotiation, presentation, and communication skills. Passion for sustainability, regenerative agriculture, and nutrient-dense foods. Ability to work independently and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
