Position Objective

Our Lady of Good Counsel in Kansas City, Missouri, a flourishing parish comprised primarily of single young adults and growing young families with sincere devotion to the Lord and His Church, is seeking a full time Business Operations Manager. The primary objective of this position is to design, manage, and optimize the internal systems and processes necessary to help the parish run smoothly, as well as managing the external \xe2\x80\x9cbusiness\xe2\x80\x9d relations of the parish. This position will essentially function as the \xe2\x80\x9cright hand\xe2\x80\x9d of the pastor. This position is full time based upon 40 hours per week.

Essential Duties

? Leadership & management

o Assist pastor in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding and offboarding employees.

o Directly supervise 2-5 parish staff, both full-time and part-time.

o Maintain employee records.

o Supervise and manage volunteers

\xc2\xb7 Financial systems and processes

o Process payroll for parish staff.

o Pay all vendors in a timely manner.

o Manage parish\'s online giving platform.

o Oversee weekly parish volunteer money-counters.

o Communicate the parish\'s financial status regularly and effectively to the pastor.

o Prepare for and facilitate quarterly finance council meetings.

o Develop annual budget in conjunction with the pastor.

o Ensuring compliance with all Diocesan operational policies and procedures.

\xc2\xb7 Office management

o Work with the office manager to ensure the accuracy and practical utility of the parish\'s system of calendars.

o Draft and manage leasing contracts with outside entities in conjunction with Diocesan offices.

o Establish good rapport and communication with outside entities.

o Manage rental payments by said entities.

o Assist the pastor in formalizing and clarifying sacramental and liturgical systems and processes.

o Train and supervise staff responsible for these procedures.

o Maintain accurate parish data and train employees in the use of the parish data system.

? Marketing & communication

o Work with pastor and parishioners to coordinate parish marketing and communication efforts.

o Manage and update parish website.

o Monitor online presence for the parish.

o Design various graphics, programs and flyers, needed for online presence or parish events or initiatives.

o Managing parish social media.

? Development

o Establish a \xe2\x80\x9cFriends of the Shrine\xe2\x80\x9d initiative for former parishioners or non-parishioners with some connection to the Shrine (daily Mass-goers, penitents, etc.), in order to garner additional income for the parish.

o Develop a system of \xe2\x80\x9cdonor relations\xe2\x80\x9d such as thank-you\'s and communication with those who support the parish but aren\'t parishioners (\xe2\x80\x9cFriends of the Shrine\xe2\x80\x9d)

o Assist the pastor in designing, implementing, and conducting a potential parish capital campaign.

o Develop marketing material to aid in development efforts.

? Building & Grounds

o Work with the pastor to fill the roles for building maintenance, volunteer or part time employees.

o Supervise the volunteers and/or staff members in their work.

o Develop, implement and managing strategies/policies for campus security and safety.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Basic Qualifications

o Undergraduate degree in finance, accounting, marketing, communications, or business required,

o Minimum 2 years experience team management experience.

o Microsoft Office intermediate to proficient skill level.

o Three years or more experience in finance or accounting field.

o Familiarity with the Catholic understanding of ministry is an asset.
