Current Vacancy: There is one vacancy with the Department of Facility Maintenance, Public Building and Electrical Maintenance Division. Work schedule is Monday thru Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. This position is under the direct supervision of the Building Services Supervisor II, supervises and/or performs the following duties pertaining to the care and maintenance of the floors and carpeting of all facilities under the jurisdiction of the Department of Facility Maintenance. Applies and enforces applicable safety practices, rules and procedures, and performs all duties in a safe and acceptable manner to ensure the safety of self, co-workers, and the general public. Performs other related duties as required.
Special Working Conditions: May be called back to work while on off-duty status to respond to carpet cleaning emergencies. Employee shall provide valid after hours contact number. This position involves frequent heavy lifting and movement of office furniture and equipment. Basic computer skills required. This position will be assigned to service the Joint Traffic Management Center (JTMC) and is subject to applicable federal laws in order to access the facilities. Any employee with unescorted access to secured areas and equipment related to a traffic management center requires a fingerprint-based criminal history record check as part of the pre-employment suitability in accordance with HRS \xc2\xa7846-2.7 (b)(37). This position serves as a disaster response worker.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
Experience and/or training of sufficient scope and quality to show competence in the cleaning and maintenance of carpets and floors.
Such experience must have demonstrated knowledge of cleaning methods, materials and equipment used in the care and maintenance of carpets and floors; and the ability to plan, assign and supervise the work of others; give and follow oral and written instructions; demonstrate proper work methods and set the pace; operate tools and equipment used in the cleaning and maintenance of carpets, tile and other floors; maintain harmony in work relationships among workers; encourage safety practices and safety rules; handle weights and loads.
LICENSE REQUIREMENT:
Possession of a valid Hawaii driver\'s license (Type 3) as required.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE EVALUATION:
