The CASA Volunteer Specialist is an unclassified position serving at the pleasure of and appointed by the Greene County Juvenile Court Judge under Section 2151.13 of the Ohio Revised Code. This position reports to the CASA Director.
Normal Working Hours: Monday - Friday; 8:00am - 4:00pm (35 hours/week)
Salary: Based on experience/education.
- Prepare all case files to court specifications.
- Maintain filing system.
- Assist with orientation and training of CASA volunteers.
- Preparing training materials.
- Use of CASA MANAGER software program; program designed for data collection of cases and volunteer duties.
- Participate in periodic training.
- Correspondence and mailings.
- Communicate with CASA volunteers.
- Keep necessary and appropriate volunteer records.
- Any other duties as support to the CASA Director.
Required Knowledge and Abilities
- Must complete initial CASA training (36 hours).
- Ability to maintain client confidentiality.
- Experience with volunteers.
- Knowledge and understanding of issues within families in crisis relating to child abuse and neglect.
- Computer experience.
- Strong communication skills.
