The Clinical Intake Specialist (CIS) will be responsible for providing clinical intakes/assessments for new clients at Sound. CIS will provide an average of 15 assessments per week for a variety of programs throughout the organization. CIS must be able to provide clinical intake assessments for both children and adults. A Mental Health Professional designation (MHP) is required for this position!

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES

• Provides direct services and/or internal and external organization referrals for clients.
• Prepares necessary reports, summaries and progress notes, and incorporates into clinical records.
• Assists client to remain stable in the community, thereby reducing the use of hospitals or involuntary treatment services.
• Participates in team member meetings, consultations, case presentations and in-service training.
• Participates in ongoing program development and assessment.
• Understand recovery concepts in behavioral health.
• Apply recovery concepts, as appropriate to my work at Sound.
• Synthesize and demonstrate recovery concepts in my work at Sound.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Requires a Master\'s degree in social work, psychology, or a counseling-related field (MSW, MS, MA)
• A minimum of two years\' experience as a psychotherapist or case manager with adults and/or children preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND SKILLS

• Understands the principles of individual therapy, group therapy and/or case management approach to providing services.
• Possesses strong working knowledge of the mental and/or behavioral health and support resources of King County, and is familiar with state and local health delivery systems, including knowledge of various funding principles and clinical services mandates.
• Ability to learn new tasks and skills quickly, and to manage and prioritize multiple tasks, while simultaneously managing crises.
• Able to demonstrate the capacity to appreciate and work well with the complex and diverse population.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES & REGISTRATIONS

• Must be able to obtain a Washington State Agency Affiliated Counselor credential within the first 60 days of hire.
• Washington State driver\'s license and insurable driving record required.
• Requires designation as Mental Health Professional (MHP).
• Washington State Substance Use Disorder (SUDP) or Substance Use Disorder Trainee (SUDPT) certification preferred.
• Must pass a criminal background check.

Current sign-on bonus: $3,000

Pay Range: $26.01 - 27.34 per hour
