Posting Summary
This position is eligible for 100% remote work.
Conduct post-award sponsored research activities required for the management and closing of sponsored projects. Provide post-award financial administration and management for research funds in accordance with campus policy and agency requirements. Partner with SPA Financial Analysts (FAs) to interpret sponsor regulations and University policies for Principal Investigators (PIs) and serve as primary information resource for college research administration procedures. Partner with FAs to deliver and lead training initiatives. Participate in on-boarding PIs with respect to their roles and responsibilities in the financial management of sponsored projects.
Post-Award Financial Administration
\xc2\xb7 Act as primary financial/administrative contact for PIs post award management.
\xc2\xb7 Monitor award budgets, conduct budget/financial analysis and prepare spending projections.
\xc2\xb7 Facilitate regular budget meetings with PIs and research staff to ensure research activities maintain compliance.
\xc2\xb7 Monitor project expenditures to ensure all costs are following sponsor and University guidelines and are allowable, reasonable, allocable, and consistent.
\xc2\xb7 Analyze award specific cost share requirements to ensure that cost sharing commitments are met within sponsor and University guidelines.
\xc2\xb7 Review sponsor regulations as outlined in award documents and coordinate with PI to ensure compliance with sponsor specific terms and conditions.
\xc2\xb7 Ensure required deliverables/reports meet compliance and/or sponsor requirements.
\xc2\xb7 Manage effort reporting and effort compliance to ensure compliance with federal regulations and University policy.
\xc2\xb7 Prepare and process distributions based on requests from PIs and effort management reviews.
\xc2\xb7 Communicate and provide training and guidance to PIs regarding effort management regulations and policy.
\xc2\xb7 Advise department leadership of PI funding, anticipated support issues, and potential conflicts of commitment.
\xc2\xb7 Manage outgoing sub award monitoring process and collect approvals to pay related invoices.
\xc2\xb7 Assist PI with preparing required external communication and documentation for award modifications.
Support audit and site visits, as directed, including program audits (typically coordinated by PI) and single audit (coordinated by SPA Compliance Analyst).
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Bachelor\'s Degree and two to four years of relevant work experience required. Working knowledge of contracts and grants transactions and applicable financial systems, as well as related policy requirements. Demonstrated working knowledge of applicable federal, state, local, sponsor, and institutional regulations, policies, and guidelines required. Ability to work independently and as a team member, research and resolve problems, meet deadlines, and follow through on assignments with minimal direction. Independent judgment and strong organization and communication skills and customer service focus across broad and diverse subject areas. Demonstrated ability to manage significant volume of transactions. Accounting and budgeting skills in managing complex financial accounts and funds, as well as knowledge of generally accepted accounting, fiscal, and reporting principles required.
Desirable Qualifications
Three years experience in research contract and grant management desirable.Certified Research Administration (CRA) or Certified Financial Research Administration (CFRA) designation.
