Position Summary
Certified Medical Assistants are primarily responsible for assisting our Providers with patient medical care. Our Certified Medical Assistants report to the Nursing Supervisor as well as the Provider on-duty.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: - Excellent customer service and registering patients as well as handling related administrative duties; - Escorting patients to examination rooms; - Assisting with patient triage by taking medical history and vital signs; - Documenting relevant patient data in EMR; - Discharging patients with detailed instructions; - Maintaining efficient and organized patient flow; - Screens calls, schedules appointments, and calls patients as necessary;
- Tracking and replenishing inventories and other supplies; and - Assisting with equipment maintenance and ensuring cleanliness.
Qualifications
- High school diploma and must have an active certification from a nationally recognized Medical
Assistant/Technician Certifying Board/ Registry;
- At least 1-2 years of clinical experience in a medical office setting;
- Prior community health center or ambulatory care experience preferred;
- Compassionate communicator with excellent patient interaction skills;
- Team-player able to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced environment;
- High-energy individual with a positive attitude; and - Comfortable working with electronic medical records (ECW).
