Overview:Under general supervision, oversees workflow of day-to-day duties of the school health office; performs a variety ofclinical and clerical functions as assigned by the school registered nurse to optimize a positive learning environment forstudents and staff. Responsibilities will vary according to the school health program and the school's medical needs. Qualifications:EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
H.S. Diploma/GEDCERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) From one of the following issuing bodies: National Health Career Association (NHA), National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP), American Medical Technologists (AMT), American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), American Allied Health (AAH) or the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA) upon hire or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) From one of the following issuing bodies: American Medical Technologies (AMT) or the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA). In addition, this certification requires: Successful completion of a Registered/Certified Medical Assistant (RMA/CMA) program or equivalent upon hireEXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Previous clinical experience in a medical office preferred And Computer data entry experience.SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Writes, reads, comprehends and speaks fluent EnglishMulticultural sensitivityMicrosoft Office - basic computer skills.Customer/patient focusedCritical thinking skills using independent judgment in making decisions Responsibilities:

  • Clinical Excellence/Patient Carexefxbfxbd Serves as the primary point of contact for students needing health assistance and maintains good working relationships with students, parents, staff members, and administration.xefxbfxbd Provides care to students by possessing knowledge and skills necessary to perform various clinical tasks, and reporting illnesses/injuries to parents and the school nurse as warranted.xefxbfxbd Assists school nurse with administering daily medication to students prescribed by the Primary Care Provider, as delegated and in accordance with the written policy.xefxbfxbd Maintain student immunization and health records, along with class lists.xefxbfxbd Review Emergency/Medical History forms for completeness and appropriateness of information.xefxbfxbd Monitors and maintain accurate, up-to-date records of school compliance for immunizations, physicalexaminations, and vision/hearing screenings. Reports all non-compliance cases to registered nurse and/or building principal in a timely manner.xefxbfxbd Enters and maintains accurate student health information in the computerized student information management system.xefxbfxbd Promptly and appropriately charts all student visits.xefxbfxbd Provide prompt, adequate, and competent first aid services for students as needed.xefxbfxbd Prepares and/or performs health screenings as assigned
  • Physical Environment of Carexefxbfxbd Ensures the health office is well-maintained and functional.xefxbfxbd Possess knowledge about the safety policies of the school health program, as well as the establishedpolicies and procedures of the organization and the school district.xefxbfxbd Actively participates in cleaning and disinfecting the health office.
